On December 4, 1995 at 4:20 in the morning Mountain Standard Time, the XQC experiment was launched from the 350 Tower at launch complex 36 from White Sands Missile Range in White Sands, New Mexico. The rocket reached a maximum altitude of 230 km and landed approximately 15 minutes later 80 miles north of the launch site. Just after dawn, part of the experiment team left in two military helicopters to recover the payload.
