What
causes the seasons?

orientation of this tilt stays more or less fixed with respect to the stars,
NOT the Sun (but see procession)

Therefore
different parts of the Earth receive more sunlight (longer per day and
more direct) depending on the season
Looking closely at the
above you can see that there are times of the year when the Sun shines
more directly in the North or South. This is why
we have seasons!

Looking at the above comparison
shows that the angle of the Sun changes a lot (47°!)
between the longest and shortest days of the year.
